The Regional Economic Strategy
The
Regional Economic Strategy (RES) is the blueprint for the economic
development of England's Northwest. It is the foundation
for everything that the NWDA does. The current RES
was launched in March 2006. It sets out a clear vision
for the region’s economy and identifies specific priority actions
to meet the economic challenges and opportunities of the next ten
years and close the economic gap with the rest of England.
While its implementation is led by the Agency, the RES is
the strategy for the whole region. It was drawn up by an
advisory group of 25 private and public sector partners, following
extensive and inclusive consultation with over 4,000
organisations.
The successor to the current RES is in development with release
in 2010.
